Armenia and Georgia's Prime Ministers to Have Phone Conversation Today: Avinyan

The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, addressed issues related to cargo transport during a question-and-answer session with the National Assembly. He noted that there are challenges with cargo transport both at Lars and Bagratashen, where the main issue is related to the quarantine in the Marneuli region, resulting in significantly slow throughput.

According to Avinyan, the same problem exists in Lars; however, a phone conversation is scheduled today between the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Georgia to understand how they can expedite regulations and ensure continuous flow.

“Due to various restrictions and quarantine zones, these processes have slowed down. We need to establish clear regulations and rules of the game soon so that cargo transport is not adversely affected, as restrictions on cargo transport could further exacerbate the crisis,” he said.

Avinyan informed that he is in daily contact with the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, while the head of the State Revenue Committee is working with his counterpart and Russian colleagues to resolve the issue.
