Nothing prevents that not everyone is present in the hall, some can follow via radio and live broadcast. Hayrapetyan
Mr. Marukyan did not mention that yesterday the Speaker of the National Assembly stated in his remarks that our staff comes to work in shifts. Moreover, the vulnerable, targeted group is also not coming to work. I think it would be more appropriate not to mention in a speech that 700-800 people are coming to work, but to take into account the information that the Speaker conveyed to the council members yesterday, of course not in front of the cameras.
This was stated today, on March 24, during the NA session by My Step faction member Mikitar Hayrapetyan, referring to the remarks of the leader of the Bright Armenia faction, Edmon Marukyan, who noted that gathering with 132 deputies and inviting their staff to the NA sets a bad example. He suggested discussing among the factions so that only members of the NA council remain in the Assembly, ensuring that the quorum is not met, the agenda is not approved, and thus the sessions are not conducted.
According to Hayrapetyan, the work of the NA should not be disrupted. “The public is at home but continues to follow us, and I call on the public in this situation not to follow our example, either in terms of maintaining distance or gathering in an enclosed space. But whether at the time of declaring a state of emergency or after that, it has been specifically stated that the NA should work and that these activities cannot be suspended, as the further course of the country depends on it.”
Hayrapetyan suggested that deputies follow the session from their offices as well: “Dear colleagues, nothing prevents us, at least under the conditions of this emergency situation, from having not everyone present in the hall during the discussion of questions, as some can follow from their rooms via radio and live broadcasts. Today I have legislation that I need to present, and I assure you, I will not be offended if not everyone is present at that moment.”
