Trucks in Georgia to be Sanitized and Accompanied by Patrol Police
The Armenian Embassy in Georgia has issued a statement regarding the accumulation of trucks at the Armenian-Georgian border due to the quarantine regime introduced in the Marneuli and Bolnisi districts. "Since March 20, the entry of trucks carrying transit cargo through the Sadakhlo checkpoint has been temporarily suspended by the Georgian side due to the large number of trucks already present in Georgia and the quarantine regime introduced by Georgian authorities in the Marneuli and Bolnisi districts starting March 23. As a result, there has been a significant accumulation of trucks near the Bagratashen checkpoint. As of March 23, at 17:00, the entry of trucks into Georgia through the Sadakhlo checkpoint is open.
Due to the quarantine regime imposed in Marneuli, the movement of citizens/buses, minibuses, and passenger vehicles towards the Sadakhlo checkpoint is closed. Trucks will be sanitized near Marneuli and will continue their journey with an escort from the patrol police, without stopping (stops will only be allowed outside the Marneuli district). The Armenian Embassy in Georgia is actively working to facilitate the exit of Armenian citizens from Georgia."
