Girls Outnumber Boys Among Newborns in Gegharkunik Region, Says Gnel Sanosyan

The Governor of Gegharkunik region, Gnel Sanosyan, made a post on his Facebook page stating that girls have outnumbered boys among newborns in the region.

“One of the rare good news of recent days: Finally, the number of girls among newborns has surpassed that of boys. In February, there were 108 births in the Gegharkunik region: 59 girls and 49 boys,” he noted, alongside a table showcasing the data.

It should be recalled that the gender imbalance among newborns has been a worrying trend in the Gegharkunik region for years.
