Entry to Sadakhlo Border Checkpoint on Armenian-Georgian Border to be Open for Cargo Trucks

The entry to the Sadakhlo checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border will be open for cargo trucks. The entry to Georgia had temporarily been halted on the Georgian side due to a large number of cargo trucks in the area and quarantine measures.

The Armenian Embassy in Georgia reported, “We inform you that the entry of cargo trucks carrying transit goods through the Sadakhlo checkpoint to Georgia was temporarily suspended due to a large number of cargo trucks in Georgia and also because of the quarantine regime introduced in the Marneuli and Bolnisi districts, which led to a significant accumulation of cargo trucks near the area adjacent to the Bagratashen checkpoint.”

According to the Georgian side, starting from 21:00 on March 23, the entry to the Sadakhlo checkpoint will be open for cargo trucks. Due to the quarantine regime in the Marneuli district, cargo trucks will be disinfected near Marneuli and will continue their journey without stopping under the escort of patrol police (stops will only be allowed outside the Marneuli district).

At present, the movement of citizens from the Georgian side to the Sadakhlo checkpoint is also closed due to the quarantine regime in the Marneuli and Bolnisi districts (the restriction does not apply to cargo trucks). The Armenian Embassy in Georgia is actively working to ensure the exit of Armenian citizens from Georgia.
