Call to Grocery Stores to Set Special Hours for Seniors: Deputy Prime Minister
We will call on grocery stores to set special hours for elderly customers, so that seniors can do their shopping during those hours. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan during a broadcast on Public Television.
“In Italy, death cases have been recorded among the elderly, who had three or more chronic diseases. Seniors are the most vulnerable group, which is why we will call on our grocery stores to set hours for the elderly. Most likely, these will be from 10 AM to 12 PM, and we will call on our other citizens not to go to grocery stores during those hours, and in general, it is advisable to communicate with grandparents only via Skype during this period,” said Tigran Avinyan.
Referring to the legislative package introduced in the agenda of the National Assembly’s extraordinary session, Avinyan noted that it would clarify the conditions of self-isolation, establish control mechanisms, and impose fines for violators.
“If at any point we see that it is not appropriate to keep all infected individuals in hospitals, in the first phase, I believe we will accommodate them in hotels, while only severe cases will remain in hospitals. If the number of patients increases further and it becomes ineffective to keep them in hotel conditions, we will move to home isolation,” said Avinyan.
