No Masks Worn, Greeting with Kisses, Yet Demanding Elevator Disinfection: Hovsep Kubatyan
Hovsep Kubatyan, the head of the Information Department of the Yerevan Municipality, wrote on his Facebook page: “No one can save us from the virus if we do not make an effort ourselves. These days, we receive many letters from citizens requesting disinfection of the entrances or elevators of various buildings. Today, I decided to visit one of the addresses. After standing in the yard for 15 minutes, it became clear that people do not care about basic rules. No one is wearing masks, greeting each other with kisses, yet they demand that their elevator be disinfected. No one can save us from the virus if we do not make an effort ourselves. The state and the community are doing everything to prevent the spread of the virus, but primarily, all citizens must realize that basic social responsibility is a necessary condition. This situation reminded me of a letter where a citizen requested that we carry out a cleanup day in their yard.”
