Italy Records Approximately 800 Deaths from COVID-19 in One Day
Italy has reported approximately 800 deaths in one day due to complications from the novel coronavirus. This information was shared by the head of the Civil Protection Department, Angelo Borrelli.
Borrelli stated that this represents a new record for the number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country, bringing the total fatalities to 4,825.
“Unfortunately, today we have recorded 793 deaths. However, I want to emphasize that we do not differentiate between those who died 'with coronavirus' and those who died 'from coronavirus,'” Borrelli remarked.
Currently, the total number of infected individuals across the country stands at 42,681, which is an increase of 4,871 from the previous day. The number of recoveries has exceeded 6,000,” he added. It is worth noting that since the outbreak began, Italy has seen 53,500 confirmed cases, with the highest number of infections registered in Lombardy.
