Iran Rejects US Offers of Aid in Coronavirus Fight
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has rejected offers of aid from the United States in the fight against the coronavirus, stating that the U.S. is blamed for creating the virus. This was reported by Reuters, referencing Khamenei's speech.
“The U.S. leadership has stated that it is ready to provide medical assistance and help with medication. These are very strange words. Firstly, you have a deficit, as we hear from news coming from the United States. Secondly, you Americans are accused of creating the virus. I do not know how substantiated these accusations are, but if such accusations exist, how could a wise person accept medication from you? Perhaps your medication is a means of further spreading the disease. You cannot be trusted,” declared Ali Khamenei.
The Iranian spiritual leader referred to the U.S. as the main enemy of their state, describing American officials as deceivers.
