30 People Arrived from Armenia Accommodated in Akhaltsikhe Hotels

The residents of the Akhalkalaki and Ninozminda municipalities, who entered Georgia from Armenia through the "Ninozminda" checkpoint on March 21 and waited all day in the van, remained in Samtskhe-Javakheti. The Akhalkalaki City Hall has reported that they have been accommodated in hotels in Akhaltsikhe. This was reported by Jnews.ge.

As Jnews previously reported, 30 citizens of Georgia, who returned from Armenia, were waiting in a van at the "Ninozminda" customs checkpoint to be transferred to a quarantine zone. Starting today, the mandatory transfer to quarantine for people entering Georgia has been implemented, regardless of which country they have arrived from. As a result, there were not enough hospitals, centers, and hotels that had been designated as quarantine zones so far. Hotels in Samtskhe-Javakheti have started to be converted into quarantine zones.

The Deputy Mayor of Akhalkalaki, Armen Marangozyan, stated in a conversation with Jnews that everyone will be accommodated in the best hotels of Akhaltsikhe. "This is done for everyone's health. These people will be housed in hotels with the best service. It is not mandatory for them to be infected; this is done to prevent any spread. They will spend 14 days there, and if no virus is detected, they will return to their homes," said Armen Marangozyan.
