Thermal Cameras Installed at All Airports in Georgia to Combat Coronavirus: Open Letter to the Armenian Prime Minister and the Head of the Emergency Situations Department
OPEN LETTER
To the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan
To the Head of the Emergency Situations Department, Tigran Avinyan
To the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan
To the Heads of the NSS, Ministry of EM, and other law enforcement agencies
On Facebook, a user named Arshak Khachatryan stated:
Since the declaration of the state of emergency, the NIKKOMMA LLC has been carrying out thermal monitoring duties at Yerevan City Hall on a volunteer basis without any expectation of payment or compensation.

At the same time, as a specialist in security systems, I inform you that this measure is insufficient when only implemented at City Hall. We need to apply such technical solutions in:
- Airports. I have had the chance to travel through Zvartnots Airport and have seen the thermal devices installed there several times. I will modestly remain silent about their capabilities and technical condition. However, I can confidently assert that the checkpoint at Zvartnots must be equipped, as currently 100% of the risks there are not managed effectively.
- State, security, and other important buildings and facilities. The entrances of all such buildings should be monitored with similar devices. Photos are attached.
- Streets. Such devices should be installed on vehicles, and those vehicles must patrol the city to swiftly identify individuals with elevated temperatures walking or standing in the streets. This may sound radical, but it is the only way to counter this virus.

After implementing all these measures, their costs will be justified, as thermal cameras can subsequently be used for various purposes.
P.S. A few days ago, Georgian media reported on the system created based on #MOBOTIX thermal camera technology at all Georgian airports. This system allows for rapid measurement of body temperature and, in the event of an anomaly, enables prompt action. Such systems can also be utilized post-epidemic and not only in airports.
Please pay attention to the Georgian experience and promptly implement it in Armenia as well.
