Rockslide on Goris-Tatev Road Causes Damage to Vehicle
On March 20, at 08:40 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received a notification about a landslide on the Goris-Tatev road in the Syunik region, resulting in a "Volkswagen" vehicle becoming trapped under debris. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a team of firefighters from the regional rescue department has been dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that a rockfall occurred near the 27km mark of the Goris-Tatev road, approximately 2 cubic meters, causing damage to the Volkswagen vehicle (driver: Armen H.). As a result, this segment of the road has become one-way passable. Rescuers have cordoned off the area and successfully extricated the vehicle from the blockage.
Cleaning operations for the road segment have been carried out by rescuers and staff from the Goris Road Service, and the road is now open for two-way traffic.
