Olympic Champions to Receive Monthly Honorarium of 200,000 Dram

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Arayik Harutyunyan, announced on his Facebook page:

“We respect and encourage the work and efforts of our athletes and future champions. From now on, Olympic Games champions will receive a monthly honorarium of 200,000 dram, instead of the previous 100,000 dram. Athletes who secure the second and third places in the Olympic Games will receive 140,000 and 100,000 dram, respectively.

Honorariums have also been established for the winners of the World Championships and the recipients of medals from the Chess World Olympiad. More details will be released after publishing the government decree accepted yesterday.”
