Edmon Marukyan Proposes to Release Up to 500,000 Drams from Seizure for 2 Months

Edmon Marukyan, the head of the LHK faction in the National Assembly, has proposed to temporarily release funds amounting to up to 500,000 AMD that are currently under seizure by the enforcement service. He made the announcement in a Facebook post.

In his message, Marukyan stated, “I have just sent a written request to the Minister of Justice, Rustam Badasyan, regarding the following issue: We are receiving complaints from citizens informing us that they are unable to meet their basic needs, including utility and other payments. The pandemic and the restrictions of the state of emergency have impacted the financial situation of wide segments of the population, and it is evident that their situation will become even more difficult before the state of emergency is lifted.

As a solution, I have proposed to temporarily release funds up to 500,000 AMD from seizure for a period of two months. With these funds, citizens who are experiencing financial hardship due to the state of emergency and the pandemic will be able to pay for utility services and cover other essential expenses.
