Breaking: Shooting Incident Results in Murder in Yerevan

On March 19, a murder involving the use of firearms occurred in Yerevan. Around 5:20 AM, the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations received calls about a body of a man found near the entrance of an apartment on the 7th floor of the building at 1/1 Ekmalyan Street.

According to Shamshyan.com, law enforcement officers and investigators discovered the body of 47-year-old Arthur Margaryan, a resident of the building, near the entrance to his apartment. The authorities found signs of gunfire on his body and a large number of spent cartridges from a firearm on the same floor. The front door of the apartment was also damaged by gunfire.

A suspect was detained by the police Central Division; 35-year-old Gor Ter-Esayan, a resident of Yerevan, is believed to be the perpetrator. Reports from G. Shamshyan suggest that he previously worked in the police department combating organized crime (commonly known as the 6th main division) and is the nephew of well-known lawyer Tigran Ter-Esayan.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the first part of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code. Several citizens gathered at the crime scene mentioned that the alleged murderer is the father-in-law of the victim. For more details, refer to the original source.
