Armenian Citizens Returning from Russia Urged to Use Air Routes Exclusively
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia urges Armenian citizens wishing to return from Russia to use air routes exclusively. The MFA has made a statement regarding this matter:
“We inform you that due to adverse weather conditions, the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway remains closed. We remind you that, according to the decision of the Government of Georgia, the entry of all foreigners into Georgia has been prohibited since March 18. Therefore, even with the improvement of weather conditions and the reopening of the highway leading to Lars, only cargo vehicles and citizens of Georgia and the Russian Federation returning to their homeland will be able to cross the Russian-Georgian border. The Upper Lars checkpoint is indefinitely closed to foreigners.”
“Once again, we urge our citizens returning to Armenia from Russia to use air routes exclusively, particularly from the nearby airports in Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don,” the statement from the MFA reads.
