Transport of Certain Raw Materials Allowed Between Armenia and Iran, Ministry Reveals
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia has announced that starting today, certain exceptions are being established for the transportation of economically significant goods between Armenia and Iran.
The government reports that due to the necessity of defining the procedures for transporting additional goods within the framework of humanitarian aid, amendments have been made to the government's decision dated February 24, 2020, which permit the circulation of certain types of raw materials between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The transports will be carried out through transshipment in the area between the administrative building and the bridge of the "Meglri" border checkpoint, under the supervision of the State Revenue Committee, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, and the National Security Service.
Business operators dealing with the specified commodity codes must apply to the State Revenue Committee, which, upon obtaining the agreement of the Ministry of Economy, grants permission for the transport of goods. Earlier, the transport of certain medical goods had already been permitted.
The list of goods is attached.
