Yerevan State University Shifts to Online Teaching

Yerevan State University has issued a statement regarding the teaching processes.  "Dear students and instructors, considering the state of emergency declared in the Republic of Armenia and the government's decision to impose a state of emergency from March 16 to April 14, 2020, Yerevan State University is transitioning to online teaching in order to avoid possible extensions of the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, to effectively organize the educational process (in-person and distance learning) under the current conditions, and to remain on schedule.

The online teaching process will utilize modern information and communication technologies, with the possibility of conducting online lectures (Webinar, Bigbluebutton) available on the e-learning platform e-learning.ysu.am. The process can also be organized using various other information and communication technologies.

Course materials corresponding to the courses outlined in the educational program, including a list of literature, key questions regarding the discussed topics, and assignments in alignment with the educational program, will be sent to students' email addresses.

Consultations regarding coursework and thesis projects can also be conducted online with academic supervisors. Defenses of final works and theses will take place according to the established schedule.

The Academic Council of YSU has proposed that, under these circumstances, course evaluation be carried out only through a final exam, eliminating the two midterm exams (the decision's outcome will be published).
