Will the Lawyer Be Held Accountable for Sitting in the Judge's Chair?

A heated controversy has erupted in the judicial system today following an incident that occurred in the courtroom during the hearings of the "March 1" case. The hearing did not take place because Judge Anna Danibekyan did not attend the session. Lawyers expressed their dissatisfaction, stating that they had not been properly informed about the cancellation of the hearing and refused to leave the courtroom.

The lawyer for the accused in the "March 1" case, Yuri Khachaturov, Mihraan Poghosyan, sat in Judge Danibekyan's chair, while one of Kocharian's lawyers, Hovhannes Khudoyan, took the prosecutor's seat, and another lawyer for Kocharian, Haik Alumyanc, was banging on the table with his hand. This was reported by ArmDaily.am.

According to media reports, an internal investigation will be conducted into the incident, and it is not ruled out that the judicial officials may be held accountable for allowing the lawyer to approach the judge's desk. Furthermore, there are indications that the judicial system may refer the case to the Bar Association to call the lawyer to accountability.

It should be noted that after the hearing, lawyers mentioned in conversations with reporters that they had been informed about the cancellation via phone, but they did not consider it a proper notification. Additionally, there are reports that Judge Danibekyan has undergone a serious surgery and is currently in the recovery phase.
