Residents of Charentsavan Found Positive for Coronavirus Returned from Abroad: Governor
Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan made a post on his Facebook page regarding the situation related to coronavirus in the region, as well as the recorded cases in Charentsavan.
He specifically mentioned: “Dear compatriots, residents of Kotayk. I am confident that you are all well aware of the significant social responsibility expected from each of us in our country during the state of emergency and in the context of implementing the comprehensive program of the RA Government aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
In this situation, where none of us is insured — whether due to our activities or objective circumstances — of becoming a virus carrier and/or transmitting the virus to our surroundings against our will, the only thing that depends on each of us is to go into maximum self-isolation and ensure the necessary preventive/sanitizing actions on our part.
In all cases, I assure you that the RA Government and the relevant authorities fully control the situation, and our citizens only need to carefully follow all official instructions and gather information exclusively from official sources.
I would also like to add that, at this moment, several hundred of our citizens, who have come into contact with individuals confirmed to have the virus, are currently residing in several hospitality establishments in our region. They are merely in the risk group and are NOT virus carriers. Proper supervision is being conducted over these individuals, and all necessary living conditions are provided.
Regarding Charentsavan: Currently, the virus has been confirmed in two residents of the community who returned from abroad and have been in quarantine from the beginning. They are now in the treatment phase and have had no contact in Charentsavan. We are also waiting for the test results of two other citizens, and additional information will be provided later. The close contacts of these individuals have also been quarantined.
As of now, there are no confirmed cases in other locations in the Kotayk region.
Dear ones, you will be informed immediately in case of additional information. Therefore, I kindly ask you to refrain from spreading misinformation and under no circumstances indulge in unverified information.
Another important observation: As you understand, panic and unnecessary alarm in any community concerning confirmed cases of infection are unacceptable. This issue pertains to our entire Republic, and the fight against it cannot have a local nature.
I once again request you to demonstrate high civic awareness and take on your share of social responsibility. Follow only official sources of information, comply with the necessary instructions, and if necessary, contact your community health center or the hotline of the Ministry of Health.
In a state of emergency, we operate in a 24-hour mode and maintain uninterrupted communication with our partners in the RA Government and relevant authorities, as well as providing permanent communication with the Commandant’s office. Stay healthy.
