Assailant Attacks Homeowner, Steals Approximately 2 Million Drams
On March 14, 2020, at 21:10, reports were received regarding an attack on a residence in Stepanavan, where the homeowner was assaulted and money was stolen from her.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Stepanavan investigation department of the Lori regional investigative administration of the RA Investigative Committee under Article 175, Part 2, Points 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Robbery).
According to the data obtained during the pre-investigation, on March 14, 2020, around 20:30, the individual suspected of committing the crime illegally entered the aforementioned house on Echmiadzin Street in Stepanavan, where he attacked a woman who was home alone. He struck her in the face with his hands, causing bodily harm, and stole her bag, which contained a significant amount of cash—approximately 2,000,000 drams—and fled the scene.
Necessary investigative and procedural actions, as well as operational-investigative measures, are being carried out to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to identify and locate the person suspected of committing the crime. The pre-investigation is ongoing.
