More than 300 citizens of Armenia are isolated, and we have prepared areas for another 300: Prime Minister

More than 300 citizens of Armenia are isolated, and we have prepared areas for another 300. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live Facebook session following a consultation held at the government.

“Discussions are ongoing to understand how to minimize the impact on our economy. Currently, 300 citizens are isolated, and we have prepared areas for isolating another 300 citizens. If the government decides to impose a state of emergency, which we believe will happen, an extraordinary session of the National Assembly will take place by legal force to assess the proportionality of our steps. We will also have the opportunity to respond to criticisms so that our society is aware of the measures we will be taking.

At the moment, there is a coronavirus situation in 51 countries in Europe. One thing is clear, we will overcome not only the coronavirus but also all issues in terms of national unity, health care, and economy. I want us all to think positively and in this way. Thank God, we have no risky cases; only two individuals are slightly complicated, and two citizens have pneumonia, but it seems that treatments are helping them, and their lives are not in danger.

When we received news last night that I had come into contact with a citizen who tested positive for the virus in Vayk, interestingly, I had no fever before that, but when I learned about it and took my temperature, I had a fever of 37.1 degrees, which is why I underwent testing again.

Besides the statement made by the head of the State Food Safety Inspection Body, this morning the acting director of the National Security Service told me that they also confirm that even if no food is imported into Armenia for a month, Armenia will not face a food shortage, although we do not have such a scenario,” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister added that once we overcome this situation together, they will address the issue of supporting companies that face economic difficulties. “We will discuss that situation and see what measures we will take. I have ideas on how economic difficulties should be overcome, and we will overcome them, do not doubt it,” said Pashinyan.
