Warning: Armenian Citizens with Russian Passports Stranded at the Armenia-Georgia Border
Citizens have raised alarms regarding the prohibition of entry into Armenia for individuals holding Russian passports at the Armenia-Georgia border. According to shamshyan.com,
“A decision made yesterday resulted in the closure of the Armenia-Georgia border this morning. Consequently, a situation has arisen at the border where our compatriots, who are Russian citizens, are already en route to Armenia. They have traveled over 1000 km and are facing the reality that they cannot cross the Armenian-Georgian border due to its closure; they are unable to enter Armenian territory. This concerns Armenians holding Russian Federation red passports. If they had Armenian passports, they would be able to enter Armenia as they would be considered Armenian citizens, and perhaps they were returning to Armenia,” said the concerned citizen, noting that those arriving from Russia are unsure of what to do, stranded at the Georgian border in uncertainty.
