Major Car Accident Occurs in Ararat Province

Today, on March 14, a major car accident took place in Ararat Province. Around 3:00 PM, on the 25 km section of the Yerevan-Eraskh highway, a collision occurred between two vehicles: a Volkswagen Passat driven by 24-year-old Arman G. from Tavush Province, and an Opel Astra driven by 38-year-old Arman J.

Quickly responding, the officers from the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Company of the Road Police arrived at the scene, led by Battalion Commander Grigor Poghosyan and Company Commander Karapet Harutyunyan. Fortunately, initial reports indicated that there were no injuries from the accident.

The information about the accident was relayed to the Artashat police department by the duty officer at the Road Police’s operational management center, Ervand Aleksanyan, from which an operational group arrived under the guidance of Department Head Ruben Nersisyan. Investigative work at the site was led by Senior Investigator Gevorg Poghosyan of the 1st Company of the Road Police, who is preparing materials on the incident.

Both drivers underwent sobriety tests at the scene, and it was determined that they were sober. A representative from ‘SIL Insurance’ also arrived promptly. According to preliminary information, the driver of the Opel was deemed at fault for the accident.
