Suspicion of Coronavirus Leads to Transfer of Garment Factory Employee in Vanadzor

A special medical team has transferred several individuals from Vanadzor to medical facilities today due to suspicion of being infected with the coronavirus or having contact with an infected person. According to sources, one of those transferred is an employee of the "Gloria" garment factory in Vanadzor.

"In the morning, an ambulance arrived, entered the area with appropriate gear, and took someone with them," our source reported, noting that the individual in question is Italian. Another source has stated that the transferred individual is an Armenian employee of the factory. This was reported by Armtimes.com.

Witnesses in the area confirmed that an individual had indeed been taken from the factory. In an interview with HJ, the director of the "Gloria" garment factory, Bagrat Darbinian, initially denied that anyone had been transferred from their factory due to the coronavirus. "Yes, the ambulance did come," said the director, "but there are 2,600 employees, and every day an ambulance arrives for various people who feel unwell."

Darbinian initially linked the rumors to competitors of the factory, but later admitted that indeed an individual was transferred who had contact with one of their employees who had returned from Italy. "An Italian came, and he was immediately isolated from the airport, but the person had no fever or symptoms; they kept him in quarantine for 14 days, and it turned out his test was clean," said Darbinian.

According to the factory director, besides this one Italian, another Italian came to the factory who felt unwell yesterday and sought medical assistance. The medical team then visited the factory to follow up on the individual with whom this person had direct contact. The director assured that until now, neither the quarantined person nor the second Italian has shown any symptoms; if they do, they will be the first to consider closing the factory. "We also interact; we do not want to take the virus home either."

In addition to all this, according to our source, another two people from Vanadzor were transferred for testing, who recently returned from Italy. One of them, according to our source, is a school principal.
