Illegal Activities at 'Holy Mother of God' Medical Center: Police Reveal Findings
In the framework of materials prepared by the Department of Fight Against Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Criminal Police, factual data has been obtained regarding illegal activities at the 'Holy Mother of God' Medical Center of the Yerevan Municipality.
According to investigations, the director of the medical center, motivated by personal interests, without conducting a required competition, entered into a contract for the provision of laundry, ironing, and disinfection services with a company owned by associates of his between 2014 and 2016.
From 2016 to 2019, the director of the service-providing company prepared and submitted false performance acts concerning the volume of services provided to relevant employees of the healthcare facility, resulting in the embezzlement of over 37 million 500 thousand drams.
It has also been revealed that some employees of the medical center entered misleading information into documentation related to the registration of double or additional medical services under the program providing free and preferential hospital medical assistance guaranteed by the state from 2016 to 2019 and prepared blatantly false reports, which they submitted to the Ministry of Health, receiving more than 27 million 100 thousand drams for non-implemented services.
Furthermore, factual data has been obtained indicating that the materially responsible person of the healthcare facility embezzled over 2 million 500 thousand drams through appropriation, amounting to a total of 6 tons and 360 liters of fuel in 2019.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Criminal Police Department, which has been sent to the Investigative Committee.
