Fact: The Culture of 'Samazoudi' and 'Razborkans' Can Expand and Not Be Limited to Apologies

The newspaper ‘Fact’ writes: “Some time ago, a so-called group of ‘guardians of the revolution’ with a semi-militarized appearance was formed, whose members regularly made threatening posts on social media against all those who oppose the ‘revolution.’

Indeed, over time they directed threats towards those who supposedly spoke out against the ‘state,’ but it was clear that this ‘editing’ should be classified among the trends that aim to identify the state with the authorities. They did not even conceal in their posts that ‘if necessary, they would resort to extreme measures.’

During this time, law enforcement agencies took no action, which led to the group ‘visiting’ a person who insulted Nikol Pashinyan and, under threats (the threats had begun a day earlier on social media: ‘Either he will apologize, or he will be punished’), forced him to apologize.

It is undoubtedly clear that any phenomena that insult, slander, curse, or sow hatred against any individual should be excluded. However, that is the responsibility of law enforcement agencies, not some incomprehensible group. The greatest danger of such ‘visits’ is that the culture of ‘samazoudi’ and ‘razborkans’ can expand and not be limited to mere apologies, with unpredictable consequences ahead. Might we one day wake up to witness groups of ‘guardians’ of others, who will attempt to extort apologies or punish those who have insulted or criticized their ‘charge’?

It is encouraging that condemnatory statements have come from the ruling side, indicating that one cannot adapt to such phenomena. It is also very good that the Prime Minister deemed the phenomenon unacceptable and condemned it. But the issue is not just about this case; it is the phenomenon itself. Regardless of law enforcement's response to this specific case, any possibility of vigilante justice should fundamentally be excluded, as well as the existence of any similar group.”
