Arsen Torosyan Proposes to Postpone Weddings and Engagements for Several Weeks

It is necessary to minimize contact with others as much as possible. Such interactions should only take place for essential reasons, while personal events like weddings and engagements should be postponed for at least a few weeks. This was stated by Armenia's Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, emphasizing the importance of avoiding crowds and being in closed spaces.

If we must participate in such events, ensuring regular ventilation of the room is crucial. The Minister urged maintaining a minimum distance from one another and temporarily avoiding handshakes and hugs, noting that the virus does not travel far in the air but spreads through close contact, especially when saliva and nasal secretions come into contact with hands.

Maintaining these guidelines will help prevent not only COVID-19 but all respiratory infections. These recommendations should be strictly followed by the elderly and those with chronic conditions.

“Avoid touching your eyes or nose with your hands, frequently wash your hands with soap and keep them under running water for an extended period or disinfect them with a bleach disinfectant,” Torosyan remarked during his speech.

The minister also addressed social responsibility, urging all individuals returning from risk areas to not hide but instead report their symptoms to the relevant authorities. He discussed the possibility of delaying classes for a week, stating that decisions are made according to the situation, and if necessary, new decisions will be appropriately and timely announced.

According to Torosyan, 31 individuals isolated at the Golden Palace hotel in Tsaghkadzor will be tested today, and if the result is negative, they will be discharged. The response will be available by evening.
