Woman Constantly Sneezing: Jokingly Asked if She Brought Virus from Italy

After the confirmation of a coronavirus case in Ejmiatsin, the streets are deserted and shops are also empty. Diana Gasparyan urges people not to panic, yet there is widespread unease in the city. This has been reported by Hraparak.

Residents of Mravyan Street, where the infected individual lives, are particularly in a state of panic. Neighbors have interacted with her for days, visiting and spending time together. Those who attended the engagement party of the woman’s son, who returned from Milan, are also anxious. They noticed that she was constantly sneezing and even joked, asking if she brought the virus from Italy.

The panic in Ejmiatsin has escalated to the point where parents have prohibited their children from going to school. Those who did attend returned home quickly. Ejmiatsin School No. 1 recorded 300 absentees today, while those present were allowed into the school only after sanitizing their hands with alcohol, as per the principal's instructions. However, the children did not stay for long; parents came to pick them up.

A similar situation is evident in the 2nd, 5th senior, and other schools, including the Ernekian Educational Complex. Residents of Ejmiatsin no longer wait for the Ministry of Education and Science's decision to temporarily close schools—they are making their own choices.

The streets of Ejmiatsin have seen an increase in police presence and emergency vehicles arriving from Yerevan.
