VIDEO: Individual Who Robbed Doctors Identified

The police have revealed the identity of the person who committed theft at one of the medical institutions in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative area on March 6. This information has been received from the official website of the police.

On March 6, around 14:00, the police department received a report from the operational management center stating that a theft had occurred at a medical institution in the administrative area.

An operational group was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that, taking advantage of the unlocked office doors, a wallet belonging to one of the doctors was stolen, which contained cash, discount and bank cards, and another doctor’s bag was rummaged through but nothing valuable was found, leading the thief to leave.

The investigative body took necessary measures to identify the individual responsible for the theft and to recover the stolen items; days after the incident, the theft was solved.

On March 10, around 17:00, criminal investigation officers and members of the police's patrol service detained a 43-year-old resident of Sebastia Street, on suspicion of committing the theft, from Andranik Street. He provided a confession.

Further investigations revealed that the suspect had committed over ten thefts of personal belongings from medical institutions in different administrative districts of Hrazdan city and Yerevan, as well as from markets and shops between January 2020 and March 6, stealing mobile phones, wallets, and bags.

The circumstances are still being clarified. Measures are underway to recover the stolen items. The preliminary investigation of the initiated criminal case continues.
