Soldier Zohrab Sianossian Killed by Enemy Fire Laid to Rest

On March 10, contract soldier 36-year-old Zohrab Sianossian, who was killed by enemy fire at the border with Nakhichevan, was laid to rest today, March 12, in the community of Pkord Vedi in Ararat province, with military honors.

In an interview with NEWS.am, the head of Pkord Vedi community, Norik Martirosyan, stated that generals and colonels also attended the funeral.

It is notable that Zohrab was the father of two young daughters, aged 2 and 4. He was the eldest son of his parents, and his younger brother had gone abroad for work. Zohrab had also just recently enlisted in contract service.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that at around 15:30 on March 10, a contract soldier, Private Zohrab Grigori Sianossian (born 1994, Ararat region), sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest as a result of enemy fire directed at the combat position of Military Unit No. N, located in the southwestern region. This information was provided by the Ministry of Defense's press service.

An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
