No Threat Should Exist to the Air of Jermuk: If There's No Air, There Will Be No Mine, Says Prime Minister

No threat should exist to the air of Jermuk; the air must remain clean, stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the "Yes" campaign rally in Jermuk today.

“There are no two opinions on this matter. No one is saying, ‘Let’s pollute the water of Jermuk.’ The question is whether it is possible to operate that mine in a way that does not pollute the air or water. If it is possible, we must pursue that truth. If it is not possible, then it is not possible—there is no subject for discussion, and it is excluded that the mine will be operated,” the Prime Minister announced, adding that his position is sufficiently honest.

“I hope that this position is understandable and acceptable to the residents of Jermuk. If there’s no air in Jermuk, then there will be no mine,” Pashinyan said.
