41 Individuals Isolated in Tsaghkadzor and 6 Families in Yerevan, But Numbers May Rise: Torosyan

As of yesterday, we had 41 individuals isolated in Tsaghkadzor and 6 families in Yerevan. I cannot specify the number of individuals, but since isolation processes are currently underway, the number of those in isolation will increase, and we will announce the final figure. It is possible that the number of individuals in isolation will rise by 10-20,” stated Health Minister Arsen Torosyan regarding those who were in contact with COVID-19 patients.

“I believe that the 31 individuals initially isolated will return home after testing, as they have shown no symptoms,” Torosyan added.

When asked how much isolation could help prevent the spread of the virus, Torosyan said that self-isolation and social responsibility are the only tools for epidemic prevention. “The virus spreads silently and rapidly; we cannot isolate thousands of citizens,” the minister emphasized.

He once again called on citizens returning from areas that are pandemic hotspots to limit their interactions, self-isolate, and most importantly, in case of symptoms, to refrain from self-medication and immediately contact medical services, whose phone numbers have been published to allow for testing and to determine if an individual is infected or not.
