Resident Killed Fellow Villager: Preliminary Investigation Concluded
The preliminary investigation of a criminal case conducted by the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Lori region has revealed that on August 19, 2019, at noon, a resident of the village of Shnogh in Lori region had a conflict with a fellow villager during a birthday celebration within the administrative area of the village. Under the influence of alcohol, he argued over household matters with his relative, during which threats of murder were made, and he intentionally caused minor injury to his opponent using a tripod meant for gathering hay near the residence. The intervention of other party attendees halted the altercation, and the parties left the scene.
Subsequently, with the intention of revenge, on the same day at around 7:00 PM, he went out, encountered his disputant on the way and, with clear intent to unlawfully take the life of the latter, inflicted multiple blows on various parts of his body with the sharp edge of a sickle he had previously taken. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died from the injuries sustained the previous day.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained, charges have been filed against the resident of Lori region under Article 104 (murder) of the Criminal Code of Armenia, and his pre-trial measure has been remanded in custody. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to court with accusatory conclusions.
