Fire Breaks Out in Vanadzor, Rescuers on Scene

On March 10, at 09:54, an operational group from the regional rescue service was dispatched to the scene of the fire for reconnaissance. A firefighting unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department also deployed to the site.

The fire was extinguished at 17:17. Approximately 15 hectares of grassland were burned, of which about 5 hectares were in forested areas. Ten employees from the Vanadzor Forestry Enterprise were present at the scene.

It is worth noting that on March 9, at 15:31, a report was received at the National Crisis Management Center about smoke sighted on the northern hillside of Vanadzor, Lori Province. An operational group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' regional rescue department and a firefighting unit also responded to this incident.

The fire was contained by 18:12. Five employees from the Vanadzor Forestry Enterprise also participated in the firefighting efforts. Due to darkness, the firefighting operations were halted at 18:15. Two employees from the Vanadzor Forestry Enterprise remained on duty.
