Attempted Murder or Car Accident? Mysterious Incident Occurs in Gegharkunik Province

Today, on March 10, a major car accident occurred in Gegharkunik Province. Around 5:00 PM, vehicles including a Lada with license plate 70 VV 099, a Mercedes with license plate 10 SR 015, and a VAZ 2107 with license plate 34 LQ 289 collided on the 25th km stretch of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap highway.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan reporting from the scene, five people with bodily injuries were taken to the 'Gavar' medical center. One of the injured individuals passed away without regaining consciousness on the way.

The rapid response team from the emergency situations ministry's regional rescue service in Gegharkunik arrived promptly at the scene. Citizens and Gavar's fire-rescue team were the first to provide assistance to the injured. Those gathered at the scene noted that the doctors from Gavar hospital acted swiftly.

However, witnesses suggested that the incident was not merely a traffic accident but rather an attempted murder. The Mercedes and VAZ were parked when the Lada, heading towards Gavar from Sevan, deliberately collided with the Mercedes, as there had been an altercation between the individuals involved a few hours earlier.

While conducting an investigation at the scene, police and investigators discovered a firearm inside the Lada, which was seized in the presence of witnesses. By the investigator's order, the vehicles involved are to be transported to the special storage area of the Gavar police department.

Whether the incident constituted a traffic accident or an attempted murder will become clear during the preliminary investigation.
