Arsen Torosyan's Call to Armenian Citizens
Arsen Torosyan, the Minister of Health of Armenia, has taken to his Facebook page to address the current situation regarding the new coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide. He states:
“In light of the circumstances surrounding the new coronavirus, we urge you to avoid traveling to the following countries: Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Japan, China, Iran, and South Korea. When planning business trips outside of Armenia, refrain from traveling to these countries, and only undertake such trips in cases of absolute necessity.
Citizens returning from these countries should avoid contact with others for 14 days and self-isolate. Employers should ensure remote work for employees who have returned from these countries.
Avoid organizing international events in Armenia with participants arriving from the above-mentioned countries. If you have returned to Armenia in the last 14 days and exhibit symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, please contact the 24/7 Operational Hotline at 060 83 83 00 or the Ministry of Health's hotline at 8003.
We also encourage everyone to:
- Avoid contact with individuals suffering from respiratory infections and, if contact is unavoidable, use personal protective equipment (masks),
- Frequently wash hands for at least 20 seconds, especially before meals,
- In the presence of flu-like symptoms, avoid self-medication and consult a doctor.
