UAZ Rolls 30 Meters Down from Artazhan Mountain: 2 Dead, 2 Injured

On March 8, at 17:57, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received information about a traffic accident with casualties on the slope known as 'Artazhan' in the Lori region. A firefighting team from the regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that a UAZ vehicle had veered off the roadway and rolled approximately 30 meters down from the Artazhan mountain into the gorge. As a result of the accident, one person died at the scene, and three others with serious injuries were transported to the Alaverdi Medical Center. The victims were rescued from the forest by the rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and local citizens. The doctors at Alaverdi hospital also acted swiftly.

According to Shamshyan.com, the deceased has been identified as Vasily Mamajanyan, while the injured are Aram Sahakyan, a former police officer, Armen Ghazaryan, and Galya Ghazaryan. The vehicle was registered under the name of 47-year-old Arman Ghazaryan, a resident of the 'Sanahin' station in Alaverdi.

It was later reported that Galya Ghazaryan also succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
