Young Man Who Murdered Woman by Beating in Gyumri Confesses to Crime: Details
On March 5, 2020, at 14:50 and then at 15:15, the Gyumri Emergency Medical Aid Station received reports that a 42-year-old resident of one of the houses on Proshyan Street in Gyumri had died, and her 12-year-old daughter was taken for medical assistance with a diagnosis of "traumatic shock, closed cranial injury."
Based on the report, law enforcement arrived at the site and discovered the body of the 42-year-old woman showing signs of violence, as well as a 28-year-old resident of Gyumri known to the victim. The latter was taken in for questioning on suspicion of committing the crime and confessed to beating the 42-year-old woman and her underage daughter.
On the same day, he was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime. A criminal case was initiated at the Shirak Regional Investigative Department on March 5, 2020, under Article 112 (causing serious harm to health intentionally) part 2, clause 1 (against two or more persons) and Article 14 (causing the death of the victim with negligence) of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing. Investigative and procedural actions are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the case.
