6 Magnitude Earthquake Occurs in Iran-Turkey Border Zone
On March 6, at 18:19 local time (14:19 GMT), a 6 magnitude earthquake was recorded by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations' Seismic Protection Territorial Service's seismic network.
The earthquake's epicenter was located at geographical coordinates of 38.360 North latitude and 44.520 East longitude, approximately 28 kilometers northwest of the city of Salmas, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The intensity of the underground shocks in the epicentral zone was measured at 6 magnitude.
The tremors were felt in the towns of Meghri and Agarak in the Syunik region, registering an intensity of 2-3 magnitude.
