Assassination Attempt in Armavir Province: 14 Shots Fired at 36-Year-Old Businessman's Car

Today, March 5, an assassination attempt involving firearms occurred in Armavir Province. Around 02:40, the medical center in Vagharshapat notified the Vagharshapat police department that a citizen with a gunshot wound had been transported to them. Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports that police and investigators established that the victim is 36-year-old Harutyun Harutyunyan, a resident of the village of Agavnadzor in Armavir Province, who, according to doctors, is unable to provide an explanation of the incident.

Armavir Province police and investigators found that on the same day, around 02:10, an unknown individual fired shots from an automatic weapon at H. Harutyunyan in front of house number 30 on Barsel Nersisyan Street in Agavnadzor. Harutyunyan was in his Jeep, registration number T 790 MB 777 RUS, which shows several bullet marks. A large number of cartridges fired from an automatic weapon were also found at the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The photojournalist reports that H. Harutyunyan, who was taken to the hospital, recently returned to Armenia and is a well-known businessman in Russia.
