81-Year-Old Homeowner Murdered; One Person Arrested

On the night of March 4, police received a report about a woman's body in an apartment at number 216, Mikrosjran neighborhood. Operational-investigative teams dispatched to the scene determined that the 81-year-old homeowner had been murdered, with cuts and stab wounds evident on the body.

A criminal case has been initiated by the regional investigative department. Operational-search measures were launched, yielding results just hours after the particularly serious crime. The Hrazdan police, in cooperation with the main department of criminal police and the Kotayk regional department, uncovered several circumstances of the incident, which we will not disclose due to the interests of the investigation.

It was established that the woman had hosted a 35-year-old man from the Mikrosjran neighborhood of Hrazdan. A dispute escalated during which the man stabbed the elderly woman multiple times with a kitchen knife.

The suspect was located at dawn on March 4, taken to the Hrazdan police station, and then presented to the territorial investigative department, where he was arrested. The murder weapon, the knife, has been found and seized. Expert examinations have been appointed. The investigation into the initiated criminal case is ongoing.
