Coronavirus Reaches Ukraine

The first case of coronavirus infection has been recorded in Ukraine. This was announced by the country's Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko during a briefing in Kyiv on March 3.

“Yesterday I informed you that we had four suspected cases of coronavirus, and today that suspicion has been confirmed in one person,” stated Lyashko, whose remarks were broadcast on Ukrainian television.

The patient infected with coronavirus has been hospitalized. He had contact with a small number of people. “All of them are known to epidemiologists, and they are now isolated,” added Lyashko.
