China Evacuates Its Citizens from Iran

China is evacuating its citizens from Iran, where the spread of the new coronavirus is gaining momentum. This was reported by Global Times on Tuesday, March 3.

“Employees of the Chinese embassy in Iran confirmed in a conversation with Global Times on Tuesday that the first charter flight will bring back Chinese citizens from Iran,” the publication states.

Priority will be given to students in the city of Qom, where the largest outbreak of the coronavirus in Iran has been recorded, the report adds. They will be quarantined in China for 14 days.
