Children Were Home: Village Head on Daughter-in-Law's Murder of Mother-in-Law
We did not expect such a thing, but they say that arguments had frequently occurred at their home. In a conversation with ArmDaily.am, the head of the community of Hovtashat village in the Ararat region, Hovik Tadevosyan, reflected on the recent incident in the village where a woman was allegedly strangled to death by her daughter-in-law.
The village head stated that the possibility of self-defense is now also being discussed: “An investigation is underway. There were traces of bruises on the daughter-in-law, there were signs of being hit with a stick. But the neighbors did not hear any sounds.”
When asked who was at home at that time, the village head mentioned that the children were present. “It was early in the morning, around 6 or 7. The children were probably asleep,” he added.
Tadevosyan noted that the children are currently not at home with their father, but he does not know where they are. “I do not have any other details,” he stated. It should be noted that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
