COVID-19 Surpasses Borders of China: More Than 100 Dead

COVID-19 coronavirus has infected 7,000 people outside of China. This was stated in the daily report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 1.

The report mentions that in the past 24 hours, there have been 1,160 new confirmed cases outside of China, bringing the total number of infected individuals to 7,169. Five new countries have reported the presence of the coronavirus in their regions over the last 24 hours: Azerbaijan, Ecuador, Ireland, Monaco, and Qatar.

The majority of new cases have been reported in South Korea, with 586 new infections in the past 24 hours. Italy follows in second place with 240 new cases, while Iran comes third with 205 confirmed cases of the virus.

The WHO report indicates that most of the 44,672 infected individuals in China are adults, with 2.1 percent being individuals under the age of 20. The COVID-19 virus has spread to 58 countries around the world. There have been 18 recorded deaths outside of China, with a total of 104 people having died from the virus outside of the People’s Republic of China. Armenia is not included in the list published by the WHO.
