Armenia to Acquire 4 Swathi Radar Systems

India has signed a $40 million deal to supply Armenia with 4 Swathi radar systems. India emerged victorious in the announced competition against Russia and Poland.

According to reports from Indian media outlets, Timesnownews.com cited sources from the Indian government, stating that the radar system was developed by the Electronics and Radar Development Establishment of the Defence Research and Development Organisation in Bangalore and produced by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The reports indicate that India has already begun the supply of the radar systems to Armenia.

Business Today adds that Armenia had also conducted extensive testing of the systems proposed by Russia and Poland but ultimately chose the Indian offer. However, the Armenian Ministry of Defence has yet to comment on this information.
