The head of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Mojtaba Zolnour, has announced that he has been infected with the coronavirus.
"Yes, it turned out that my coronavirus test was positive. There is no need to worry; I am in quarantine. God willing, our people will overcome the coronavirus," said the parliament member, whose statement was shared via a video on the Telegram channel of IRIB TV and Radio Organization.
Zolnour represents Qom, a city and province that currently has the highest rate of coronavirus infections. Earlier, another Iranian parliament member, Mahmoud Sadeki, had also reported being infected with the coronavirus, according to RIA Novosti.
