The Idea of the 'Evening Yerevan' Illustration Was Merely a Source of Inspiration: Statement

Dear compatriots, I would like to clarify the situation that has arisen. As a marketing organization, and being familiar with the laws regarding copyright infringement, as well as having expertise in design, promotion, and advertising, we officially announce that we were certainly aware of the existence of the poster. We clarify that the illustration/poster concept found in the 1991 edition of the 'Evening Yerevan' newspaper served as a source of inspiration. It encapsulates a call for liberation from chains and, of course, the spirit of 'Yes!'.

'Garun' deemed it appropriate to use the typography of the poster, and by developing it, transformed it into the logo of the 'Yes!' campaign. I would like to note that Armenian legislation clearly distinguishes between the definitions of a poster and a logo, as well as the rules regarding copyright infringement. 'Garun' has not violated anyone's copyright.

Respecting the works of Norair Yangibaryan, Tsolak Kantagh Garibyan, and Stepan Noroyan, we join the decision of the 'Yes!' headquarters. The logo created and developed by the 'Garun' agency will remain a symbol of the 'Yes!' campaign, and our idea will serve its purpose. We thank everyone for their expressed interest, opinions, and support.
