Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Hosts Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today hosted Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian Minister of Defense, who is on an official visit to Armenia.
Welcoming the visit of the Georgian Minister of Defense and his accompanying delegation, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the continuous development of Armenian-Georgian strategic relations. Nikol Pashinyan noted that cooperation in the defense sector is a crucial component of the Armenia-Georgia partnership, and highlighted the signing of the bilateral cooperation program in the defense sector for 2020 between the two countries’ defense ministries.
Irakli Garibashvili expressed his pleasure in visiting friendly Armenia again, noting that Georgia has strong friendly relations and robust partnership with the country. He also expressed satisfaction with his cooperation with the Armenian Minister of Defense and emphasized the significance of the signing of the bilateral cooperation program in the defense sector for 2020.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to bilateral relations, including the agenda of Armenian-Georgian defense cooperation. They stressed that the historical and cultural ties, as well as the Christian value system uniting the two nations and peoples, provide a solid foundation for deepening and strengthening friendly collaboration.
Addressing regional security challenges, Nikol Pashinyan and Irakli Garibashvili exchanged views on the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and mutual efforts in that direction.
